In Shenzhen, a city defined by “technology and speed,” Circle Club aims to become a premium social venue that reflects the core spirit of the metropolis. Its core challenge was to move beyond conventional nightclub lighting paradigms and create a system that echoes the high-tech identity of Shenzhen as a “digital city,” while delivering a sophisticated, avant-garde, and artistically expressive immersive environment.

Fengyi Lighting has created an immersive leisure light and shadow space for Mawal Lounge. The project uses laser lights to outline sharp lines, beam lights to build the spatial structure, bee-eye lights to lay a particle background, and face lights to ensure functional lighting. With the precise coordination of the four types of fixtures, it perfectly integrates leisure socializing with visual art, successfully establishing a new benchmark for high-end lounge bars in the local area.
Case Introduction
The core challenge for Mawal Lounge was balancing the relaxed social atmosphere of a high-end lounge with the visual tension required for nighttime entertainment. Unlike the constant high energy of traditional nightclubs, a lounge bar demands lighting that flexibly shifts with time and mood — from easy comfort in the early evening to psychedelic immersion late at night. It must not be overwhelming, yet must create memorable moments at key points.
Our solution is a four-layer light and shadow system with clear hierarchy and measured rhythm.
Laser lights, with their pure, sharp beams, trace clear light paths and geometric shapes in the air, injecting a sense of technology and visual penetration into the space. Their precise scanning control creates subtle light and shadow interest without disturbing conversation.
As the “energy engine” of the space, beam lights use high-brightness, sharp beams to form dynamic structures. When the atmosphere needs to heat up, they cut rapidly through the air and strobe in rhythm, instantly igniting the vibe. During leisure hours, they switch to slow scanning or static beams, maintaining layering without excessive stimulation.
Bee-eye lights act as the “ambient base.” Their unique microlens array projects dense, independently controllable light spots, simulating delicate effects like stardust, particle flows, or rippling waves, laying a deep, breathing visual foundation so guests feel immersed in a flowing ocean of light.
Face lights provide critical functional illumination. Using high-CRI COB LED sources, they accurately light the bar, booths, and walkways, ensuring safe and convenient service while restoring natural skin tones and spatial texture with soft, even light for comfortable social interaction.
The four fixture types work in deep synergy via a central control system: lasers for highlights, beams for structure, bee-eyes for ambiance, and face lights for functionality. Together they deliver a complete light narrative from sunset to midnight psychedelia, making Mawal Lounge the most stylish leisure and social destination locally.

The client aimed to create a hybrid space suitable for post-work relaxation, themed parties, and private events. The venue features high ceilings with excellent visual depth, but the original lighting system was too simple to meet multi-period, multi-scenario operational needs. The client clearly required a lighting system that could flexibly switch between leisure and party modes, maintain an elegant lounge tone while retaining explosive visual energy when needed, without disrupting guest comfort or conversation.
Cooperation Process
Cooperation began with the client’s pursuit of balanced, dynamic yet restrained atmosphere. After an on-site survey, our team proposed a design concept centered on a “four-layer light and shadow system”: bee-eye lights for ambient base, beam lights for dynamic structure, laser lights for highlights, and face lights for functional support. We produced detailed 3D simulation videos demonstrating full scene transitions from sunset mode and evening social mode to late-night party mode.
Following approval, we conducted focused testing on the CCT adjustability and color rendering index of face lights to ensure comfortable human lighting across all periods. After production, our engineers supervised on-site installation and provided systematic training for the venue’s lighting operator, focusing on coordinated programming and preset scene triggering for the four fixture types.
